Back in Saltash Again

I finally arrived back in the UK yesterday morning. It was a reasonably exciting flight on Royal Brunei Airlines who looked after me quite well. The second leg of the flight is 14- 15 hours direct from Brunei to Heahrow, near London, these days. My first issue was that my spectacles decided to fall down into the internal workingd of my seat which folded down flat. Our first attempt to recover them failed, but the second attempt when we were an hour and a half from Heathrow, thankfully succeeded by the use of an unfolded metal coat hanger with which we were able to hook the spectacles a bring them up to where we could grab them. I am extraordinarily thank ful to the two Cabin Crew and the gentleman in the seat next to me who achieved what I thought was a lost cause.

The next even was quite exciting, but I am not sure if anyone really saw it. I woke up when the aircraft was over the Arabian Sea apparently on it's way toward Muscat. I noticecd that there flashing orange or red lights flashing from something beside our aircraft which seemed to last for many minutes. afterwards, when I looked at the flight progress display, I noticed thar we had turned 90 degrees to the left and were heading towards Karachi and we proceeded up to the Caspian Sea and then to the north coast of Turkey. I can only assume that the flashing lights were from another aircraft and, perhaps, they were warning our aircraft to stay clear of the Perian Gulf. ut there was no explanation at all and no one else mentioned it.

The photos are of Paddington Station whilst I waited for three and a half hours waiting for a train to take me to Plymouth on a fairly wet morning. Poor Coffee and nowhere to easily sit down!
