Tavistock Pannier Market, A Great Place To Shop

Tavistock is a market town on the Fringes of Dartmoor.  The town grew up around a large medieval Abbey.  When the monasteries were dissolved the Abbey's property came under the control of the Russell family, who later became the Dukes of Bedford.  The Pannier Market is held every day from Tuesday to Saturday and has a different theme each day from arts and crafts to produce.  Often the stalls spill over onto the nearby Bedford Square.
