In Burgundy

We visited Beaune, a town a few kilometres to the north of Chalon Sur Saone
Burgundy is famous for it's colourful roofs such as this one in Beaune
Beaune is also note for it's Saturday food market
we looked at many of it's stalls and bought plenty of food.

The Chateau of Savigny-les-Beaune is not far away which dates from 1340
This is the newer chateau just close by which dates back to the 18th century
The chateau is not only home of one of the major local wine producers
But is also home to a Major collection of fighter aircraft and helicopters dating from the 1950's and 1970's

It is also home to a major collections of antique and veteran motorcycles as well as a collection of Arbath Motor Vehicles
 The Chateau de Cormartin
Some musicians serenading the customers at the bar in Cormartin
Cluny Abbey was founded in the 10th century as a Benedictine monastery and was founder of the cluniac tradition which spread across France and England.  The Abbey survived until the French Revolution in the 1790s after which it was partially destroyed.  What is left only hints at the past magnificence of this Abbey
Looking down what was part of the nave

This appeared to a horse and foal auction at the Equestrian centre by the Cluny Abbey car park.

Past many acres of grape vines
 and picturesque villages
 as well a forest roads.
Berze-le-Chatel Chateau, situated not far from Cluny, dating from the 13th Century towers over the vineyards

We visited a winery with a wine making museum called the Chateau de la Greffiere not far from Berze-le-Chatel

We also made a side trip to Mulhouse in Alsace not far from the German and Swiss borders which has a very impressive collection of Bugattis as well as many other classic cars.  Here are some of the photos I took there:
